Zero Food Waste
The Zero Food Waste Enthusiasts, led by Joanna Berens, of the Sustainable Events Network, Florida & Caribbean works to inspire meeting and event planners and their vendor partners to incorporate food rescue into their events. The Committee offers guidance on creating a contingency plan in the event of leftover food at key meal functions so that unused food can be donated to a local charity. Not only can event food rescue help the community in which an organization meets, but it avoids waste and keeps food out of landfills. The Zero Food Waste Enthusiasts of the SENFC was launched in 2016 and organized it's first food rescue at the NACE National Convention. See the video documenting our case study ... Click Here |
